Martijn's passion for music started at the age of 4 when he was learning to play the guitar. He decided he wanted to become a DJ in the year 2004 at the age of 8, while watching the DJ Tiesto, playing at the Olympic games in Athens. He was inspired in particular by the track "Traffic" and downloaded a program and started making music. Martijn goes to a special school for producers: The Herman Brood Academy, in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
His early carreer begin in a duet of dj with Julian Jordan. His remix of Christina Aguilera's song, Your Body (Martin Garrix remix) was on her deluxe album Lotus. Garrix gained considerable fame through his own solo release "Animals" released on June 16, 2013 on Dutch record label Spinnin Records, becoming a hit in a great number of charts in Europe, and quickly became the youngest person ever to reach the #1 spot on Beatport. Garrix released a remix of "Project T" by Sander Van Doorn, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike which quickly hit #1 on the Beatport charts. Garrix appeared on DJ mag's top 100 DJs list 2013 as a new entry at number 40. Also he was invited tobe on the mainstage of the Ultra of Miami. And his only 17.
Saying this he could easily be #1 on the DJ mag's top 100 DJs list in 5 or 6 years. He has a long journey to go, and he is already in the sky. What is the limit of Martin Garrix?
